There is not much to see in the town of Bac Ha but the Sunday Market really is unique and a beauty.
Amazing place so colourful, so full of life. This market is mostly frequented by the Hmong Flower people wearing their beautiful and colourful traditional costumes.
I stood there for a while trying to shoot some portraits of passers-by. It is not easy to get pictures of isolated people in these markets and I usually don’t ask people to pose nor I feel comfortable shooting at people’s faces, that’s why I mostly use my 70-200mm in this situation.
There is always an area where the animals are sold, buffaloes, horses, pigs, chickens, ducks, dogs, cats, goats and rare birds.
Dogs are on the menu too. Just like any other pig or chicken.
As elsewhere in Vietnam there is always someone ready to provide you a haircut.
After Bac Ha I went back to Sapa, Lao Cai and on the train back to Hanoi. Next destination: Ho Chi Minh City (former Saigon)
